Double fatality in Yates County accident

Two people were killed in a collision between a three-wheeled motorcycle and an automobile midday Aug. 17 at the intersection of Voak and Ferguson's Corners Road in the town of Potter, Yates County.

According to Yates County Sheriff's deputies, their investigation and witness reports show Meghann A. Williams, 21, of Hornell, was driving her SUV north on Voak when she was struck by a a three-wheeled motorcycle, which ran the stop sign on Ferguson's Corners.

The cycle driver, presumed to be Daniel P. Harrington, 64, and Cynthia L. Harrington, 60, both of Bloomfield, were ejected from the cycle and pronounced dead at the scene. Williams was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Benton Fire Dept., Gorham Fire & Ambulance, and Medic 55 responded to the scene.
