Yates County Sheriff's Department

Marshall D. Hendrix, 21, of 107 Garfield Ave., Penn Yan, was charged on Dec. 24 with felony driving while intoxicated (DWI), unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding.  Hendrix was arrested in the Town of Jerusalem and arraigned in town court.  He was remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $4000 bail or $8000 bond.  The  case will be heard on Jan. 7 in Jerusalem Town Court.  Penn Yan Police assisted with the arrest.

Wade A. Knickerbocker, 22, of 1406 Pre-Emption Road, Penn Yan, was charged on Dec. 26 with a violation of a family court order. 

Deputies acted on a warrant issued by Allegany County Family Court for non-payment of child support.  He was taken into custody without incident.  Knickerbocker was taken before the Town of Potter Justice and remanded into custody in lieu of $1000 cash bail.   He is scheduled to appear in Allegany Court in early January.

Kevin R. Mueller, 18, of 3847 Bath Road, was charged on Dec. 27 at 2:43 a.m. with DWI and possession of alcohol under the age of 21.   Yates County deputies came upon what appeared to be a one car MVA (car/deer) on Guyanoga Road in the Town of Jerusalem. 

After detecting an odor of alcohol on Mueller, deputies placed him through a field sobriety test.  He was transported to the Yates County Public Safety Building for a chemical test.  Mueller was issued tickets for a court appearance.

Scott J. Nesbit, 29, of 3109 Armstrong Road,  Branchport was charged on Dec. 28 with displaying a forged certificate of inspection.   He was stopped for traffic infractions by deputies on Guyanoga Road in the Town of Jerusalem. Nesbit is scheduled for arraignment in early January.  

Penn Yan Village Police

Nathaniel J. Wright, 19 of 4424 Skyline Drive, Bluff Point, was arrested on Dec. 25 and charged with DWI.  Wright was stopped on Keuka Street for improper signal and failure to keep right.  The defendant refused a breath screening test and was arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court.  Wright was remanded to Yates County Jail on $1000 bail.

Patrick J. Johnson, 22, of East Elm Street, Penn Yan, was charged with DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana on Dec. 23 at 2:23 a.m.  Johnson was operating a pickup truck when he was found to be intoxicated.

A test showed his blood alcohol content (BAC) to be over .08 percent.  He was also charged with having an open container, improper lane usage and failure to signal.  Johnson will answer charges in village court in January.
