Christina A. Heffron, 29, of Penn Yan was charged with felony aggrivated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and no insurance at 9 p.m. on Jan. 9. Village police received a complaint of a pick-up truck being driven recklessly on Cornwell Street. They located the vehicle at a business on Elm Street, where an investigation revealed Heffron was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. A computer check showed her New York driving privilege was revoked for a previous DWI charge. She was arraigned by Judge Hibbard, committed to Yates County Jail on $4,000 cash bail or $8,000 bond to appear on Jan. 21.

Stacey L. Mithchell, 29, of 121 Old Pines Trail was arrested on Jan. 12 for aggravated DWI.  Penn Yan police stopped Mitchell on East Elm Street.  She was placed through field sobriety tests and taken to the Public Safety Building for further tests where her BAC was found to be above .18 percent.  Mitchell was released to a third party and issued tickets to appear in Penn Yan Village Court.
