Child hurt by tree

DUNDEE — Daniel Z. Leid, 5, of 4374 Dundee-Himrod Road, was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of injuries on Saturday, Feb. 23, shortly after 1 p.m. 

According to a report from the Yates County Sheriff’s Department, family members were cutting firewood in the area of Coykendall Road when Daniel ran into the path of a falling tree. 

He was knocked to the ground and sustained head and facial injuries.  Deputy Patrick Manahan responded to the scene along with Dundee Fire and Ambulance, ENCON and Medic 55. Leid was not listed as a patient at Strong on Monday morning.
