Two arrested for drug sales

Nathan W. Cooper, 19, of 74 Keuka Estates and Matthew A. Nowicki Jr., 18, of 1004 Woodhill Apts., Newark were arrested on Superior Court warrants as a result of an ongoing investigation of the sale of illegal controlled substances in the Village of Penn Yan.

Cooper was charged on April 18 with one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance third degree.  Both are class “B” felonies.  Also one count each of criminal sale of a controlled substance fourth degree (class “C” felony) and criminal sale of a controlled substance fifth degree (class “D” felony).  Penn Yan Police allege he sold cocaine and vicodin to a police agent in Penn Yan in late January and early February. 

Cooper was arraigned before Judge W. Patrick Falvey and held on $5000 cash or $10,000 bond. The Yates County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division  assisted in the investigation.

Nowicki was charged on April 22 with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance third degree.  Both are class “B” felonies. It is alleged that he sold cocaine to a police agent in Penn Yan during the month of February. Nowicki was arraigned before Falvey and held on $7,500 cash or $15,000 bond.
