Penn Yan man dies in Cayuga County accident

Brett A. Boesen, 49, of Penn Yan was pronounced dead at the scene of a motor vehicle accident which occurred on State Route 90 just north of Connors Road in the Town of Springport in Cayuga County Sunday, Aug. 17.

At 2:33 p.m. on Aug. 17 a vehicle operated by Gordon Parr Jr., 38 of Union Springs was northbound when it crossed a double solid line and struck the Boesen vehicle, operated by Elizabeth Boesen, 56. 

Lorrie L. Sell, 36 and Corey A. Parr, 5,  were passengers in the Parr vehicle.  Karin Boesen, 14, and Sell were transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Elizabeth Boesen was transported by Mercy Flight to Upstate with non-life threatening injuries. Gordon Parr and Corey Parr were transported by ambulance to Auburn Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Investigation by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department was still continuing at press time. An accident reconstruction was done and traffic charges are pending.
