Yates County Sheriff Report for August 27, 2008

Kevin D. Chalmers, 43, of 82 Rambleton Drive, North Chili, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation (third degree) and speeding on Aug. 18.  Chalmers was stopped for speeding on Central Avenue in Keuka Park. Further investigation revealed  his license was suspended. He received traffic tickets to appear in Town of Jerusalem Court. 

Martin E. Moses, 54, of Old Route 21, Almond, was arrested on Aug. 20 for aggravated unlicensed operation. Moses was stopped for a traffic infraction by Deputy Charles Emerson on  the Italy Valley Road. A background check revealed he had a suspended driver’s license. He was remanded to Yates County Jail in lieu of $500 cash. He will answer charges in Italy Town Court.

Robert M. Dimmler, 22, of 3609 Warners Road, Syracuse, was arrested on Aug. 22 and charged with speeding and aggravated unlicensed operation. Dimmler was stopped for speeding on State Route 14A in the Town of Benton by Deputy Jeff Rider. A check of his driver’s license revealed it was suspended and that he was previously convicted of aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree.  Dimmler was arraigned in Potter Town Court and remanded to Yates County Jail.  He will answer charges in Benton Town Court.

Timothy R. Wheeler, 28, of 10 Springs St., Mt. Morris, was arrested on Aug. 22 for aggravated unlicensed o­peration (second degree).  Wheeler was stopped on Ingram Road in the Town of Potter and a background check revealed his license was suspended.  He was arraigned in the Town of Jerusalem Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $1000 cash bail. Wheeler will answer charges in Town of Potter Court.

Christopher E. Webster, 39, of 123 Brown St, Penn Yan, was arrested on Aug. 24 for DWI, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to comply with a police officer. Yates County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint that Webster was possibly operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The vehicle was located in a field just off Second Milo Road. When the vehicle was approached the above took off driving the vehicle into a nearby woods. He left the vehicle and took off on foot.  Webster was located in a hay field a short time later. He was taken to the Yates County Public Safety building for a chemical test. Webster was arraigned in Town of Starkey Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $200.  He will answer the charges at a later date. Deputies Charles Emerson, Brad Quayle and J. Stewart were the investigating officers.

William J. Burleson, 28, of 4117 Watkins Road, Millport was charged with aggravated harassment (second degree).  Burleson was arrested for making annoying messages via the Internet after being told not to send messages to a person in Dundee. He was remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $200 cash and will appear in the Village of Dundee Court to answer charges. Deputy Brad Quayle was the investigating officer.
