Penn Yan Village Police for December 3, 2008

Joshua Riley, 20 of 112 Stark Ave., Penn Yan was arrested on Nov. 25 shortly after noon and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.  Riley was involved in a physical altercation with a village resident while she was driving a vehicle on Stark Avenue with a 2-year-old in the back seat of the vehicle.  Riley was issued an appearance ticket to Penn Yan Village Court.

Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

David M. Fortuna, 22 of 4546 Chubb Hollow Road was arrested on Nov. 27 at 1:18 a.m. for felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation (third degree) and failure to keep right after a vehicle stop on East Main Street in Penn Yan.  Fortuna was observed crossing over the center lane.  A check of his license revealed his operating privileges were suspended for failure to pay a fine in the Village of Dundee and that he had a prior DWI conviction in the City of Corning.  He was arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail on $2500/$5000 property bond.

Jeffrey Hayner, 24 of 211 Oak Hill Ave., Endicott, was arrested on Nov. 30 and charged with DWI, following too closely and having an unregistered motor vehicle. Penn Yan Police responded to a report of a property damage MVA on Walnut Street in the village. Hayner rear-ended a vehicle that was turning into a residence off of Walnut Street.  Hayner was found to be intoxicated.  He was released on traffic tickets to appear in Village of Penn Yan Court.
