Joshua W. Thomas, 17 of 187 Academy Road, Lakemont was picked up on Nov. 26 on a warrant issued out of the Town of Varick for a probation violation.  Thomas was transported to the Ontario County line and turned over to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Department. 

Corey R. Martin, 25 of 5495 State Route 364 in the Town of Middlesex was charged on Nov. 27 with unlawful possession of marijuana. The Yates County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of marijuana pipes and bongs with residue, along with other paraphernalia in a garage at Martin’s address. Investigation by Deputy Shawn Lamphier and Investigator Patrick Killen revealed the items belonged to Martin. He was issued an appearance ticket to answer charges in Town of Middlesex Court.

James W. Dean, 41 of 1004 Wiggins Way, West Chester, Pa. was charged on Nov. 29 with aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding. Dean was stopped on State Route 14A for speeding. A check of his license revealed one suspension in New York State for failure to answer a summons. Dean was arraigned in Milo Town Court and placed in the Yates County Jail on bail and is to appear in Benton Town Court to answer charges.

Norman Rugg Jr., 31 of 46 Milo St., Dresden was arrested on Nov. 29 for harassment (second degree). Rugg reportedly slapped a Penn Yan resident in the face. He was arraigned in Benton Town Court and released on his own recognizance. An order of protection was issued against Rugg. Sgt. Derek Blumbergs and New York State Police investigated.
