Palmyra man injured in hunting accident
Nicholas Pallo, 29 of 2331 Vandy Drive, Palmyra was fox hunting with John Murphy of Victor in a brush lot near 2869 Emerson Road, Branchport on Dec. 17 around 10:30 p.m. when he was shot. Pallo had moved from his hunting location closer to Murphy and was mistaken for an animal and shot twice with bird shot from a 12 gauge shotgun. He sustained injuries to the face and body. Pallo was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Prattsburgh Ambulance. No charges had been issued against Murphy at the time of the report. Investigators from New York State DEC responded to the scene and investigation is continuing. Yates County Deputies Randy Andrews, Charles Emerson and Sean Lamphier also responded.
