Penn Yan Village Police for April 1, 2009

Paula C. Gomez, 45, of 121 South Ave., Penn Yan was charged with fourth degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, after a Penn Yan resident reported that she broke the driver’s door window on his pick-up during an argument in the parking lot at the Yates County Courthouse. She will appear in Penn Yan Village Court.

Brian L. Raymond, 33, of Pennsylvania, is being held in Yates County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania after he was arrested on a warrant from Pennsylvania as a parole absconder. He was located and arrested by Village Police at a Liberty Street business on March 27 after information was received that he was wanted. The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the Penn Yan Police and Yates County Sheriff’s Department. Inv. Michael Donovan reports Raymond was reportedly in the Penn Yan area in the company of another parole abscoder. The second subject was reportedly apprehended in Steuben County on March 27 based on information generated by the joint investigation.

Kevin S. Frede, 35, 1 Hennessey Place, Poughkeepsie was charged with second degree unlawful imprisonment and second degree harassment at 2:40 a.m. March 27 after he allegedly held two females in an apartment and refused to let them leave. Penn Yan Police report Frede got into an argument with the two females and he spit on and punched one of them, then stood in the doorway of the apart]ment, preventing them from leaving. Frede was arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court and remanded to Yates County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.

Wendy A. Lafler, 30, of Keuka Estates, Penn Yan, was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation (AUO) after village police checked her driver’s license during a traffic stop for having a head lamp out. The license check revealed her license was suspended for failure to pay child support. She was issued tickets and will appear in court.
