William R. Cloyd, 83, 655 Italy Valley Road, Naples, was charged with first degree sexual abuse; second degree course of sexual conduct against a child, both class D felonies and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor at about 11:30 a.m. March 24. Investigator Scott Backer reports Cloyd was arrested after an investigation by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective workers. Cloyd is accused of subjecting a town of Italy child under age 11 to sexual contact over more than three months. He was arraigned in Potter Town Court and taken to the Yates County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. He will appear in the Town of Potter Court March 30 for further action. The court also issued an Order of Protection prohibiting the defendant from having any further contact with the victim.                                                                                                                                                

A garage owned by Robert G. Rawligh, 82, 2201 Pulteney Road, Branchport, was damaged by fire on March 23. Deputy Jeffrey Rider reports when he and the Prattsburgh Fire Department arrived at the scene, flames were coming from the southeast corner of the garage. The fire fighters contained the fire to the corner of the garage and the peak of the roof.

Nicole A. Blayda, 27, P.O. 733, Burdett, was charged with failure to maintain lane and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation (AUO) on March 24 in Penn Yan. A check of her license revealed suspensions in Schuyler and Ontario Counties. She was arraigned in Benton Town Court and will appear in Penn Yan Court.

Richard M. Hall, 46, of 4244 Old Bath Road, Penn Yan, was charged with second degree harassment on March 24 after a Barrington woman alleged he struck her in the face during an argument. He was arraigned in Barrington Court and will reappear.

Daniel J. Smith, 21, 48 Keuka Estates, Penn Yan was charged with second degree obstructing governmental administration March 25. When deputies responded to a report of a physical domestic dispute and attempted to check the well-being of the person he was allegedly involved with, Smith physically prevented the deputies from entering his home. The deputies forced entry into the trailer and took Smith into custody for the charge.

Robert W. Rushman, 40, 1780 Upper Hill Road, Middlesex, was charged with second degree AUO and with having no stop lamps on Loomis Road at Route 245 in the Town of Middlesex March 26. Rushman was stopped for the traffic infraction and a check of his license revealed it was revoked for a previous DWI conviction. He was arraigned in Town of Middlesex Court and released to reappear.

Ryan E. Willson, 20, 3034 Kinney Corners Road, Keuka Park, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on March 27 following a domestic dispute during which he grabbed the victim and slapped her in the face while she was holding onto a six month old baby. He was arraigned in Town of Jerusalem Court and is being held on cash bail.

Five Naples individuals were charged with unlawful possession of alcohol with the intent to consume under the age of 21 on March 27 at 3280 Shay Road in Italy. They are: Eric P. Gleisle, 9157 Route 21, Naples; Jeffrey D. Huff, 19, P.O. Box 712, Naples; Kody R. Schenk, 20, 145 Martin Road, Naples; Thomas J. Adams, 20, 7886 Hickory Botton Road, Naples and Chancey W. Schenk, 18, 6605 Italy Valley Road, Naples. Deputies charged them after responding to a reported underage party at 3280 Shay Road. They were issued tickets to appear in court.

A 17-year-old youth was arrested in the Town of Starkey on March 28 after violating a court order from Bath Town Court in Steuben County. The defendant visited the subject in an order of protection at his home in the Town of Starkey. The defendant was arraigned in Town of Benton Court and released to reappear in Starkey Court, reports Deputy Shawn Lamphier.

Joyce A. Waite, 63, 33 Beam Road, Lakemont, was charged with second degree harassment at 6:22 p.m. March 28 following an incident at 48 Water St., Dundee during which she allegedly grabbed the victim, a 46-year-old Penn Yan woman, by the face and shook her head back and forth. Waite was arraigned in the Town of Barrington Court, where she pled guilty to the charge and was released to return on a later date to pay a fine.

An 18-year-old male from Middlesex who is eligible to be considered a youthful offender, was charged with sexual misconduct on March 28 after the Yates County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Yates County Department of Social Services staff about a possible sexual misconduct between two teens. Inv. Patrick Killen reports the 18-year-old was charged with having intercourse with a female who was younger than the legal age of consent.

Richard A. Rodas Jr., 31, 613 Prospect Ave., Keuka Park, was charged with two counts of criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment at 10:45 p.m. March 29. Lt. Todd Sotir reports the arrest came after deputies investigated a domestic incident that occurred in Keuka Park. Rodas allegedly damaged property and subjected a Town of Jerusalem resident to physical contact. A child was present, resulting in the endangering the welfare of a child charge.

Rodas was arraigned in the Town of Jerusalem Court and committed to Yates County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

David A. Jensen, 40, of 863 Stone Mill Road, Dundee, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at 12:39 a.m. March 29 in the Town of Starkey. Deputies were called for the report of a man laying on the side of the roadway. When they arrived, they found Jensen to be intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and arraigned in the Town of Starkey Court. He was taken to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond. He is also facing a parole violation in connection with this arrest, reports Deputy Randy Andrews.
