Jessica L. Reed, 23, of Oxnard, Calif, was arrested July 16 at midnight for DWI and speeding. Reed was stopped for the speeding violation on State Route 54A near Bluff Point. She was placed through sobriety tests and found to be intoxicated. She was taken to the Yates County Public Safety Building for a breath test which revealed a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent.  Reed was arraigned in Benton Town Court and remanded to jail on $500 cash or $1000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Jerusalem court later this month.

Betsy S. Heffernan, 51, of 22 Highland Dr. Apts., Dundee, was arrested July 16 for petit larceny following an investigation into stolen property at the apartment complex. Heffernan was issued a ticket to appear in Dundee Village Court.

Stephen H. McFall, 33, of 4557 Old Bath Rd., Penn Yan, was charged July 18 with criminal contempt (first degree), a class E felony and endangering the welfare of a child. Earlier in the day McFall is alleged to have entered a residence and subjected a Dundee resident to physical contact in violation of an order of protection. The incident took place in the presence of children under the age of 17, resulting in the endangering charge.  McFall was arrested and taken before Justice Seeley in the Village of Dundee Court and committed to jail in lieu of $5,00 cash or $10,000 bond.

Daren K. Champlin, 40, of 133 East Main St., Penn Yan, was arrested July 18 for DWI, failure to keep right and speeding. Champlin was stopped on State Route 14A in the Town of Benton for a traffic infraction. An odor of alcoholic beverage was detected. He was placed through a series of field sobriety tests and transported to the Yates County Public Safety Building for a chemical test.  Champlin was issued tickets to answer charges.

John Baylor, 57, of 23 Gilbert St., Rushville, was arrested July 19 for endangering the welfare of a child. He was charged following a domestic incident for acting in a manner likely to be injurious to the moral, mental or physical welfare of a child under the age of 17. Baylor allegedly subjected a child to unwanted physical contact.

Alisha L. Wheeler, 22, of 57 Union St., Dundee, was charged July 19 with criminal mischief (fourth degree). Wheeler was involved in a domestic incident with her live-in boyfriend and she kicked out the bedroom window. Following the arrest, she was transported to Benton Town Court for arraignment. She was released to answer charges in Dundee Village Court at a later date. Deputies Jeff Rider and Kevin Crofoot were assisted at the scene by New York State Police.
