Two injured in Potter crash

Two area men were injured when their truck left the road and overturned Sunday afternoon.

Joshua Bassett, 23, of 1580 Italy Valley Road, Middlesex, was southbound on Middle Road in the Town of Potter when he went off the west side of the highway on Oct. 18 at 3:48. The pickup re-entered the road and Bassett over-corrected and went off the west side a second time, striking an earth embankment, report  Yates County Sheriff deputies.

The pickup overturned and entered Middle Road again, coming to rest on its roof.

Joshua was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital  by Mercy Flight for treatment of head trauma/injuries. A passenger, Daniel Bassett, 18, of 427 Main St., Penn Yan, was taken to S&S Hospital in Penn Yan by Middlesex Ambulance for facial trauma/injuries. 

The Potter Fire Department and Medic 55 were also on the scene. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and both airbags deployed.
