Two men were injured when this garbage truck tipped over on Anthony Road in the town of Torrey Monday morning.

A three axle, 10 wheel garbage truck owned by Feher Rubbish Removal Inc. overturned on Anthony Road in the town of Torrey just before 8:00 a.m. Feb 28. Robert W. Cauthen Jr., 42, of 2270 Mill Road, Clifton Springs, was driving eastbound on Anthony Road when he failed to negotiate a 90 degree curve to the right, causing the truck to overturn on its left side completely blocking the road for more than four hours.

Yates County Sheriff's Deputies, Dresden and Penn Yan Fire Depts. responded, as did Penn Yan and Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Medic 55. Cauthen was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester complaining of chest pain. His co-worker, Jerry Panna, 29, of 81 North Genesee St., Geneva, was taken to Geneva General Hospital complaining of back pain.

A commercial vehicle enforcement inspection was conducted by the Ontario County Sheriff's Dept. after which, the truck was righted and towed from the scene by Martin Tones' Garage and Marchionda Trucking. Feher employees arrived to remove the associated debris and for fuel clean-up operations under the supervision of the NYSDEC Spill Response Unit.

Cauthen was ticketed for failure to reduce speed for a special hazard, and is scheduled to appear in Torrey Town Court at 2:00 March 17.
