Five escape injury in Jerusalem accident

The Yates County Sheriff's Dept. reports that a van driven by Mr. F.A. Caparulo, 23 of 73 Pleasant St., Corning, with four others aboard, was involved in a one-car accident May 15 on the Italy-Friend Road in Jerusalem.

Traveling south, Caparulo failed to negotiate a curve, sliding sideways and striking a tree. An initial report of entrapped passengers prompted the mobilization of the Branchport-Keuka Park and Penn Yan Fire Departments, Penn Yan Area Volunteer and Middlesex Ambulances, as well as Medic 30 and Medic 55 units.

First on the scene, the B-KP Fire Dept. were able to assist all the occupants out of the vehicle, whereupon they were examined by the PYAV Ambulance Corps and released with no injuries. The B-KPFD remained on scene until the van was removed by Branchport Automotive.
