Two women were taken to Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital Wednesday afternoon following a three-car accident on Lake Street in Penn Yan.
Cindy Sanderson and Jolene Sanderson were transported by Penn Yan Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps after their car was struck from behind as it was exiting the McDonald's parking lot.
Witnesses at the scene say a car driven by Richard A. Spike struck the compact car driven by Cindy Sanderson, pushing it into the street, where it collided with an SUV driven by Robert Perkin.
Both women were treated and released.
Sanderson's car was heavily damaged. It and Perkin's vehicle were towed from the scene.
Spike received a ticket from Penn Yan Police for following too closely.
