Gary K. Malcom, 62, of 2725 Rte. 54A in Jerusalem, was badly injured May 22 when he lost control of his garden tractor, and tumbled over a 30-foot embankment into a ravine, overturning several times.

Yates County Sheriff's Deputies, Medic 55, Penn Yan Ambulance, and the Branchport-Keuka Park Fire Deparment First Responders arrived at the scene and treated Malcom on site. He suffered abrasions, contusions, and internal injuries. The Branchport-Keuka Park Fire Department responded with additional manpower to move him out of the ravine.

Malcolm was then transported by ambulance to the Penn Yan Little League Field where the Penn Yan Fire Dept. established a landing zone. He was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Stong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. As of Monday morning, he was listed in guarded condition, Stong's most severe classification.
