Drunken Penn Yan woman damages police SUV

Jesica M. Yeomans, 20, of 2932 Rte 14A, Penn Yan, was arrested near midnight June 21 by Penn Yan Police responding to a call of a person covered in blood on the sidewalk on Brown Street. When they arrived, police found Yeomans intoxicated and had been coughing up blood.

According to police, when they tried to take her into custody for medical attention, she fled on foot. She was apprehended, but resisted being handcuffed and placed in the backseat of a Dodge Durango patrol vehicle. Yeomans then kicked from the inside of the vehicle, bending the door and windowframe in an attempt to escape.

Yeomans is charged with underage drinking, disorderly conduct,  resisting arrest, third degree obstruction of governmental administration, and third degree criminal mischief. After being taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital, she was arraigned in Penn Yan Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail.
