Penn Yan Police Investigator Michael Donovan reports that personnel at CVS Pharmacy suspected one of their technicians of stealing a controlled substance from their supplies.

Investigation revealed that Jason White, 33, of 5144 Jessop Road, Dundee, had allegedly been stealing hydrocodone pills since December 2011. White allegedly stole approximately 3,000 pills during this time, valued at $2,600, which Donovan believes is the wholesale value to CVS. Depending on the dosage, hydrocodone has a street value of $10 - $40 per pill.

White was charged with fourth degree grand larceny and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property (class E felonies). He was arraigned in Penn Yan Court, and committed to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail to reappear later. Donovan states that drug related charges are still being investigated and may be filed later.
