Man arrested for assault on pregnant woman

Penn Yan Police have arrested Andrew L. Cranmer, 36, of East Elm St., Penn Yan for allegedly physically assaulting a pregnant woman on Keuka Street. 

Officers were dispatched to the residence Monday night, March 23 for a report of a physical domestic incident. 

They met with the pregnant victim who was about to be taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua by her parents for stomach pain and bleeding. 

Later, Police interviewed the victim, who said she had been struck by Cranmer in the stomach several times. Police say she also had a detailed handprint on her forearm that was still visible three hours after the incident took place. 

Cranmer was arrested March 25 and charged with aggravated family offense, 3rd degree attempted assault, 2nd degree harassment, and 4th degree criminal mischief. He was processed at PYPD, and taken to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment.
