The REALTORS® Charitable Foundation (RCF), the “Charitable Arm” of Rochester’s Real Estate Professionals, has donated $20,000 to the Yates Community Endowment Disaster Relief Fund.

“Part of our mission is to give back to the community by addressing critical housing needs, and we are grateful to be able to help the people of Penn Yan now,” said Bill Tierney, chair, REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. Since its inception in January 2001, RCF has made grants of over $600,000, benefiting over 35 not-for-profit organizations. This $20,000 gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar by an anonymous local businessman to assist with housing needs caused by the disaster in mid-May.

The Disaster Relief Fund was established at Rochester Area Community Foundation, home of the Yates Community Endowment, to quickly respond to those affected by the severe flooding in Yates County.

Finger Lakes Economic Development Center in collaboration with Keuka Housing Council and Yates Community Endowment are working to accept, review, approve, and make grants to applicants.

“Thank you to all of the Rochester area REALTORS® for this generous donation,” says Joy Benson, regional coordinator for The Community Foundation.
