Dundee Library offers Civil War Cinema Feb. 24

In honor of the American Civil War's 150th anniversary, the Barrington History Group along with the Dundee Area Historical Society and the Dundee Library are proud to present Civil War Cinemas! The first movie featured with be Gods and Generals, which will be shown in two parts. Part one will be shown on Thursday, Feb. 24, 3 - 5:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Dundee Library, 32 Water St., Dundee.

This movie is rated PG-13, however, if you have younger children, please bring them along so that they might participate in a Civil War craft that will include a story time featurnig books from the We the People Bookshelf Grant that was awarded to the library by the National Endowment for tje Humanities in 2010. This event will run concurrent with the movie and will take place in the Dundee Library's children's room for children 12 and under.

These events are free and open to the public. There will be an intermission period during the movie when Civil War era snacks and food will be served. At the end of the movie, handouts will be available to guide the group in Civil War discussions.

The Dundee Library will be setting up a special display of Civil War books and materials that may be borrowed.
