Making readers out of kids

In the second of three planned Duffy  Book Give-aways, Penn Yan Elementary students got to choose their favorite types of books last week to encourage them to become book readers rather than just people who can read.

With half of the money coming from district funds and half from community donors, the book give-away is intended to get children’s books into houses that often have no books at all. The next Duffy Giveaway will be in June to ensure that students have books to enjoy over the summer break.
