Area students earn art awards in annual contest

Students from Penn Yan, Marcus Whitman and Dundee Central Schools submitted a variety of artwork for the 2011 Scholastic Art Contest at the Yates County Arts Center. The work is on display until April 9. The overall winner was Marcus Whitman's Samantha Case.

Everywhere you turn at the Elm Street Yates County Arts Center Gallery, you see vibrant colors, action, expression and emotion.

Several area students received awards March 18 for their work in the 2011 YCAC student art show.

Samantha Case, a Marcus Whitman student, received the Best in Show award.
