Have you experienced storm damage this summer? Many residents have. In fact, over the past few years, severe weather has caused quite a bit of flood damage to area public infrastructure and private properties. Citizens can help mitigate harmful storm impacts by properly maintaining the ditches and gullies that run through their properties.

You can learn how to help protect your property and your community at a 15-minute talk given by Emily Staychock, Storm Damage Watershed/Environmental Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension, Yates County. This talk will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Barrington town hall, 4424 Bath Road, Penn Yan.
