LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Thanks for helping the Keuka Arts Festival

Letter to the Editor

Even in the best of times, organizing an event as large and complex as last weekend’s Keuka Arts Festival would not be possible without the efforts of volunteers, supporters and community representatives who are almost too numerous to list.  This year’s event, rescheduled because of the pandemic, had its own set of unique challenges and yet, thanks to those who were determined to move forward with this family-friendly community activity, proved to be a rousing success.

The Keuka Arts Festival committee and the Board of Directors of the Arts Center of Yates County wish to thank, in particular:

• The Village of Penn Yan

• The Yates Endowment at the Rochester Area Community Foundation

• State Assemblyman Phil Palmesano and Senator Tom O’Mara

• The Penn Yan Elks Club

• The Friends of the Outlet

• Keuka Comfort Care Home

• The Finger Lakes Boating Museum

• The Living Well

• The myriad of volunteers and Village employees who helped with organizing, set up, oversight and clean up of the Festival itself.

Of special note are the efforts of Assemblyman Palmesano and Senator O’Mara, who stepped in to expedite the Festival’s Farmers Market designation, which enabled us to include the New York grown and crafted products so popular with festival goers.

Our thanks to all who attended the Festival and supported our artists and vendors.  We look forward to seeing you again at next year’s Festival!

Cindy Kowalski & Karen Morris

Co-chairs of the Keuka Arts Festival committee
