To the Editor:

“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures,” wrote Thornton Wilder and how true it is.

PennYan Academy HUBBA volunteers truly exemplify this message in giving back to our community. On Friday, May 16 student volunteers, under the direction of Nancy Jamison, donated their time throughout the area including Clinton Crest Manor. Here residents were pampered with manicures and enjoyed visits and a barbecue.

To all who organized and participated in this event, we thank you. You are our treasures.
