Vote for employee morale

I find it necessary to comment on the Town of Jerusalem Councilman positions up for election Nov. 3. It appears from recent activities of the board, that there are two persons that are experts in all areas. The employees’ morale is at an all time low and why? Because their capabilities are not recognized. Responsibility requires fair treatment and compensation for any town position.
I have served the Town of Jerusalem for over 20 years and 10 were on the Town Board and at no time with a personal agenda, but with the interest of the whole town.
While I was on the board, I was the council person that oversaw the water-sewer department, and we sent our employees to schools and seminars, to obtain NYS required certifications and continuing education. The State provided our employees the knowledge and proficiency to operate our systems as the State requires. The recent move by the water department to join a union was the result of at least two newer members of the board not identifying the training and expertise of the two employees with just and fair compensation, and trying to administrate the department without any training or qualifications.
I urge the voters of Jerusalem to provide the right board members to change the direction of the morale of all town employees.
