Questioning is the American way

After watching President Obama deliver the State Of The Union speech last week, I am moved to say that, to me, the American Revolution did not end with the surrender of the British in the 18th century.

If it had ended we would not be a Democracy.  We'd be frozen with a government as it was then because no one  would have the right to protest and demand change. It took years of work to hammer out our Constitution and every Amendment has been a change to make it function as we try to make a better society.

The Amendments did not come to be without lots of argument, lots of compromises and lots of anger.

So let's question authority. It's the American Way.
