Do highway crews take a pass on roads?

I’m employed in a job which classifies me as a “government worker” but I am entirely fed up with government workers’ unions extorting the public for protection money by deliberately withholding services and encumbering what services they do provide with corruption and waste so that politicians can argue for necessary increased taxes with which they buy the votes and support of the aforementioned government workers’ unions. Now they are arguing for necessary, “painful” budget cuts - but they will only cut items which cause pain to their constituents, never anything which might reduce the luxuries of the ruling class elites and their protected-class supporters!

What prompted this message?  What was the straw that broke the camel’s back?

All winter, the highway crews (except the Thruway, of course) have taken a pass on their duty to keep the roads clear.  Here in Penn Yan, Yates County, school was cancelled today (Tuesday, Feb. 1). In the Village, no plows all overnight/morning. On the town roads, no plows all overnight/morning. On the county roads, no plows all overnight/ morning. On the state roads, which pass through, no plows all overnight/morning.

So the School District issues a two-hour delay. But we immediately all knew that school would eventually be cancelled because the roads hadn’t even been touched yet!  We’re all calling each other in amazement as one hour into the delay only a few of us have seen a plow at all - and some of us are out and about and still haven’t seen one! The “lucky” among us have seen only one.

I drive to Rochester and on a recent snow occasion with a few inches on the ground untouched, I drove from Penn Yan and didn’t encounter a plowed road or see a snow plow until a couple miles short of the Thruway entrance in Farmington!  This was at 7:45 a.m. when the snow had started at 10:30 p.m. the night before!

This has been going on all winter!  When will we, the people, take our government back?  Why did we fritter it away to these corrupt scoundrels and make it now so difficult to retrieve?
