Bravo to Beauty & The Beast cast and crew

Staff Writer
The Chronicle Express

I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the cast and crew of the PYA Drama Club for their performance of Beauty and the Beast. The music was wonderful, the cast exciting to watch, and the sets and scenery were fit for a Broadway theatre. From the moment the two matinee performances, I attended, started I was in awe.

The High School theatre is a wonderful experience for the directors, musicians, cast and crew alike.

Young people moving towards adulthood get to express themselves through song, dance, and monologues or by taking on important production roles in sound, lighting, set construction and artistic painting and creativity. All of these roles help to develop well rounded young people.

Having been involved in the production side of the theatre from eighth grade through college I worked on numerous shows in the PYA, for PYTCo. and the Waterman Theatre (SUNY Oswego). Listened to countless musical numbers and monologues, yet I was moved by this cast and these performances more than any other show from high school to Broadway. Every part of Beauty and the Beast was fantastic.

Thank you, to the cast for sharing your wonderful talent to entertain, sing and dance, to the musicians for the great accompaniment, to the crew for the beautiful sets, sound, lights, and seamless scene changes. Thanks to the Penn Yan School District for supporting fine and performing arts, to the parents for allowing your children to participate, to the numerous community members who stepped up to help and the audiences for supporting our young people. The Penn Yan community should be very proud and I just want to say thank you.
