Dundee’s Michael Uvanni (#15) gets a fast break lay-up against Bradford on Jan. 5.

The Dundee Scots Boy’s Basketball team traveled to Brighton to take on Harley-Allendale-Columbia (HAC) with first place at stake in the Finger Lakes West.

Both teams entered the contest with identical 4-1 league records tied for first place.

In an action packed contest, HAC drilled a 3-pointer at the buzzer to pull out a 57-54 victory and come away with sole possession of first place in the west.

The host team from Rochester jumped to a 35-21 halftime lead but the hard-nosed Scotsmen battled back to pull within one, 34-33, after three quarters.

The lead changed hands several times in the final quarter and the teams were tied at 54 with time running out.  But HAC hit the trifecta at the buzzer to break the heart of the Yates County cagers and their faithful fans.

Brent Ayers lead the Dundee offense with 17 points with Rocky Martini close behind with 16 points.  Gerard Conyers added ninepoints.  The Scotsmen’s Finger Lakes West record slipped to 4-2 after the disappointing loss.

Over the weekend, Dundee hosted Bradford  and came away with a 78-39 win.

Martini led the Scots with 14 points; Ayers added  11; Mason Brown had 10 and Justin Gardener had 2.

For Bradford, Ryan Dykes had 8 and Pat Miller 9.
