Lady Mustangs fall to Newark

The Newark Red Girl’s Basketball team rolled into Penn Yan on Friday night to take on the Penn Yan Lady Mustangs in a Finger Lakes East League crossover game.  The high-powered Reds outscored Penn Yan in every quarter en route to an easy 71-36 win over the host Mustangs. 

Newark raced to a 28-10 lead after one quarter and never looked back.  Elly Disbrow netted 11 points to take high scoring honors for the Orange and Blue.  Katelyn Sloan and Christine Mosich added 9 and 7 points respectively. 

Penn Yan’s Finger Lakes East League record falls to 0-5 for the 2007-8 campaign.  They are 3-6 overall.  Penn Yan improves their record to three wins in eight tries.
