Whitman boys fall to Geneva; girls bow to Rushville

The Marcus Whitman Boy’s Basketball team fell to Geneva on Friday evening 83-46.

The hometown Panthers dominated this contest leading 52-21 at the half.  Cal Andrews was the Wildcat’s leading scorer with nine points.  Jordan Hathorn and Ryan Brahm each added sixpoints.

Whitman’s Finger Lakes East record slips to 0-6.  They are 1-8 overall.

The Marcus Whitman Girl’s Basketball team suffered a disappointing 39-35 loss to Geneva in a hard fought contest played in Rushville on Friday evening.  The Wildcats lead 20-13 at the half, but Geneva outscored the Whitman girls 17-7 in the 3rd quarter to grab the victory.

Bri Dunton was Whitman’s top scorer with 24 points, including three 3-pointers. Ashley Bardeen added five points.  The Lady Wildcats still hold down first place in the Finger Lakes East Division II league with a 4-2 record.  They are 8-2 overall.

Marcus Whitman’s Swim team defeated Midlakes 122-64 in Gorham on Thursday afternoon.  Joe Frantel and Bobby shaw swept the four free style events with Shaw winning the shorter races and Frantel capturing first in  the 200 and 500 events.  Cory Roberts won the Butterfly and Joe Pelton the Breaststroke races.

Seth Case won the 1 meter diving event. Whitman’s Relay teams won the 400, 200, and medley relays. 

The Wildcats improved their record to 2-0 in the Finger Lakes West.  They are 5-3 overall.
