Dunton leads as Marcus Whitman girl hoopsters defeat Mynderse and Pal-Mac

The Marcus Whitman Girl’s Basketball team continued their winning ways with two Finger Lakes East wins last week. 

On Wednesday evening in Gorham, the Wildcats outscored visiting Mynderse 25-15 in the second half to reverse a one point halftime deficit and convert it into a 47-38 win. 

Bri Dunton tallied 16 points to lead Whitman’s scoring attack. 

Ashley Bardeen chipped 11 points and hauled down 20 rebounds for the winning ‘Cats.  Ali Phalen also scored 10 poiunts and delivered 11 boards. 

The Lady Wildcats notched their 5th league win, 9-2 overall.  They hold down first place in the Finger Lakes East D-II League. 

In a battle for first place in the F.L. East, Marcus Whitman crushed Pal/Mac 57-30 to solidify their first place lead in the division. 

The Lady Wildcats outscored visiting Pal/Mac 32-12 in the second half to come away with the easy win.

Bri Dunton once again was the high scorer for Whitman with 17 points.  She also added 5 steals on defense.  Danielle Turner added 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and had four steals for the victorious Whitman Girls (10-2,6-2).
