Mustang boys defeat Attica in non-league tilt 58-45

The Mustangs registered a 58-45 non-league win over Attica in a game played in Penn Yan on Saturday night. Penn Yan set the tone for the game, outscoring Attica 15-5 in the opening quarter.
The Orange and Blue out scored their Livingston County visitors in every quarter en route to the win. Penn Yan improved their overall record to 7-10.
Joe Colaneri drained 18 points including five, 3-pointers to lead the Mustangs on the scoring sheet. Michael Worden and James Willson contributed 13 and nine points respectively.
The Mustangs came up short in a couple of Finger Lakes East, Division II games played last week. On Tuesday evening in Palmyra, the Mustangs were defeated 54-45 by the Red Raiders of Pal/Mac.
The Mustangs stayed close in the first half trailing 19-18 at the half. But Pal/Mac outscored the Orange and Blue 17-9 in the 3rd quarter to pull away to the victory.
Michael Worden had 16 points including 8 of 9 from the foul line to lead Penn Yan. Joe Colaneri added 12 points, 9 of which came from beyond the 3-point line. Penn Yan’s league record slipped to 2-9, 6-9 overall.
On Thursday night, the Myndere Blue Devils traveled to Penn Yan for a Finger Lakes East D-II contest. Mynderse wasted little time in taking control of this game outscoring Penn Yan 20-9 in the opening stanza. A 17-9 Blue Devil run in the 3rd quarter put the game away.
James Willson delivered 15 points to take scoring honors for the Mustangs. Cody Allison added 10 points including a pair of treys.
