Mustang bowlers nab Section V Class C crown

The Penn Yan Mustang Boy’s Bowling team continued to enjoy a very successful 2007 - 8 season, claiming a Section V Class C Title on Friday in Rochester at Olympic Bowl. 

The Mustangs had finished runner-up last season, so this win and title was extra sweet this year.  The Orange and Blue scored a team total high of 4,509 to clinch the title, 294 pins better than runner-up Geneva. 

Nate Johnson was Penn Yan’s top bowler with a 1,180 high series.  Anthony Gleason rolled a 1,097 series followed by Steven Groom’s 1,011.  Karl Fleming added a 998 and Trevor Fleischman a 687.

The Marcus Whitman team came in eighth place with a 3,750 pin total in the Class C event.

The Dundee Boy’s team placed second in Class D with 5,530.  Devon Miller’s 1,124 series was best for the Scots.

On the girl’s side, Penn Yan took fourth place with 4.382 total pins in Class C.  Marcus Whitman placed ninth with 3,612 pins.  Jaimee Schweigert rolled a 208 game.

In Class D, the Dundee Girls placed fourth with 3,860 pins.
