Lady Mustang softball team wins three games in a row

The Penn Yan Mustang Softball team kicked off their successful week with a non-league win over Haverling 11-0 in Bath on Tuesday.

  Amanda Mosich, Chelsea Travis and Morgan Wigden combined to shutout the Rams on just one hit.  Earlier this season Mosich no-hit Bath in Penn Yan.  The Mustangs banged out 14 hits led by Amanda Mosich and two doubles by Elly Disbrow.

On Thursday afternoon the Lady Mustangs traveled to Palmyra and registered win number two for the week defeating the Red Raiders 7-2.  Amanda Mosich and Chelsea Travis combined for a 2-hiitter.  Mosich picked up the win tossing four hitless innings.  Elly Disbrow had two singles for Penn Yan.  Jess  Theismeyer reached base two times for Penn Yan.

The Lady Mustangs remained perfect for the week, defeating Mynderse 8-5 at home on Friday afternoon.  Elly Disbrow went 3 for 4, Kate Disbrow 2 for 4, and Amanda Mosich 2 for 3 to lead the Mustang offensive onslaught.  Amanda Mosich was the winning pitcher, striking out six Blue Devil batters.  Penn Yan improved their overall record to 10-4.  They are in second place in the Finger Lakes East Division II League with a 4-2 record.

Romulus 3

The Lady Wildcat Softball team registered their sixth win of the season on Wednesday in Romulus.  Whitman scored six runs in the sixth inning and six more runs in the seventh inning en route to an easy 15-3 win over Romulus.  Ashley Bardeen had 3 hits including a homerun.  Kaitlyn Gnage also had three hits and three RBIs.  Three hits was also the magic number for Megan Rohring and Molly Robeson.  MacKenzie Green was the winning pitcher scattering 7 hits.

Naples 11

On Friday afternoon Marcus Whitman entertained Naples. The visiting Green defeated the hometown Wildcats 11-0. Cassidy Ewing had 2 hits for the Wildcats ( 6-3).  MacKenzie Green took the loss giving up 8 hits.

DeSales 10

In a wild game on Saturday, DeSales came from behind to defeat Marcus Whitman 10-9 in 8 innings.  Marcus Whitman led 8-0 early in the game but the Saints tied the game in the seventh inning with two runs and won the game in the eighth inning. MacKenzie Green had 3 hits for Whitman.  Morgan Rohring had a double and single with 3 RBIs.

DUNDEE 8

SOUTH SENECA 11

The Dundee Lady Scots Softball team dropped a tough 11-8 decision to South Seneca on Wednesday in Dundee.  Kaitlyn Weichenthal had a double and two RBIs for Dundee.  Sami Clingerman contributed a triple.  Dundee pitcher Lindsay Wood struck out eight South Seneca batters in the loss.
