Mike Manley plays in NCAA Tournament Sunday

Number 1 ranked Duke University (17-1), with freshman defensive player Mike Manley, a 2007 graduate of Penn Yan Academy, takes on Ohio State (11-5) this Sunday at Cornell University.

The NCAA quarterfinal game will start at noon Sunday afternoon. It will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

Duke defeated Loyola 12-7 May 10 to advance to the quarterfinal game.

Ohio State upset the Number 8 ranked Cornell Big Red 15-7 to stay alive in the Division I tournament.

Sunday’s winner will go on to face either Johns Hopkins (10-4) or Navy (8-7) at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. in the semi-final round. Those teams are playing at Navy on Saturday, May 17 at 3 p.m. Another Penn Yan graduate, Brendan Hamm, is listed as a face-off specialist on Navy’s roster.

The second contest of the day at Cornell on May 18 will feature No. 3 Syracuse vs. No. 6 Notre Dame at 3 p.m.

One paid admission will give spectators access to both games at Cornell.

Number 7 Maryland (10-7) faces Number 2 Virginia (10-9) at Navy on Saturday at noon.

The tournament semi-finals will be played in Foxboro on Saturday, May 24 and the final will be Sunday, May 25.
