Mustangs win one, lose one
The Penn Yan Mustang Boy's Lacrosse team continued their dominance over Waterloo in lacrosse.
Penn Yan 23
The Orange and Blue Laxers defeated Waterloo for the 23rd straight time on Monday afternoon in Penn Yan hammering Waterloo 23-2.
Penn Yan removed all doubt about the outcome this day, outscoring the visitors 11-0 in the opening stanza.
From there, they coasted to the easy win. Matt Osgood and Cole Castle rippled the nets 6 times each to lead the Mustang onslaught. John Linnan added 5 goals and an assist and Adam Trombley 4 goals and 4 assists.
Penn Yan 8
On Saturday afternoon, the Mustangs journeyed to apple country to take on powerful Lafayette from Section 3, a perennial high school state lacrosse power.
The local laxers played their host tough for one half, trailing 8-6 at the half. Lafayette pulled away in the second half handing the Mustangs a 16-8 setback.
Matt Osgood led the Penn Yan attack with 3 goals. Adam Trombley added 2 goals and 3 assists, Cole Castle 2 goals and 1 assist, and John Linnan 1 goal and 1 assist.
Ethan Kamholtz had a busy day in goal for Penn Yan, stopping 22 shots.
