Dundee track team wins fourth consecutive title

The Dundee Boy's Track and Field team clinched their fourth consecutive Finger Lakes West League title with wins over HAC 111 1/2 to 19 1/2 and over Red Jacket 87 -44. 

They improved their 2008 season record to 5-0-0.  Steven Webb won the 100, 200 and high jump. 

Chris Meier swept the hurdles events. Stephan Ringsmuth the 1600, Mason Brown the long jump and triple jump, Trevor Davis and Brian Koehler the 800, and Michael Tortonlon the throws. 

The Dundee Girl's team defeated HAC 80-47 but lost to Red Jacket 91-35.  Colleen Fiorella won the 100 and 200 events for Dundee (3-2).  Sussan Sprague took first place in the shot put.

Penn Yan 31, 36

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat Track and Field teams defeated the Penn Yan squads in a meet held at Whitman on Tuesday afternoon.  In the boy's meet, Whitman downed Penn Yan 110-31. 

Double winners for the Wildcats included Justin Bates (400 hurdles, 800); Nate Francisco (100, 200); and Scott Longyear (triple and long jump),  Patrick Ormsby (400), Cody Lafler (shot put), Dakota Robarge ( 110 hurdles), and Zac Ekdahl ( high jump) also scored first place finishes.  The Whitman  relay teams also placed first. 

For the Mustangs, Jordan Merritt won the 1600 and 3200 events.  Isaac Davis took first in the discus.

On the girl's side, Marcus Whitman downed the Lady Mustangs 104-36. 

Felicia Grover won the 400 and 800, Chelsie Bloom the long jump and high jump, Amy Slentz the 100, Amy Nageldinger the 1500, Heather Beasley the 400 hurdles, Hanna Hurlburt the discus, and Casey Gilbert the triple jump and the pole vault. 

Whitman won all three team relays. For Penn Yan Heather Creary won the 200 and Katie Parkhurst won the shot put.
