It was a perfect week for Lady Mustangs

The Penn Yan Mustang Girl's Lacrosse team racked up two more Finger Lakes wins last week with wins over Victor and Newark.

On Monday afternoon in Penn Yan, the Mustangs jumped to a quick 10-4 lead at the half and held on for a 18-11 win over the Lady Blue Devils from Victor. 

Sam Sisson had a huge afternoon, scoring 8 goals and handing out 1 assist. 

Rounding out the Mustang scoresheet was Morgan Basler (4 goals/2 assists), Meredyth McMichael (2 goals/5 assists), Brittany Griffiths (2 goals/1 assist), Courtney Hey (1 goal/2 assists), Chelsea Treat (1 goal/ 1 assist), and Catherine Anderson (1 assist).  With the victory, Penn Yan improved their overall record to 10-4, 9-3 in the league.

Newark 3

On Wednesday, also at home, the Penn Yan Girls continued their winning ways with a 19-3 drubbing of the Newark Lady Reds.  The outcome of this game was pretty much determined in the first half with Penn Yan outscoring the Wayne County visitors 12-2. 

Sam Sisson remained red hot on offense with 4 more goals and an assist.  Morgan Basler also had 4 goals and Courtney Hey 2 goals and 3 assists.  Also scoring for the Mustangs:  Meredyth McMichael, Catherine Anderson, Chelsea Treat, Madison Hill, and Natalie Wagaman.  Margaret Maslyn had 5 saves in goal for Penn Yan.

Waterloo 12

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat Girl's Lacrosse team dropped a 12-8 decision to Waterloo in Gorham on Monday afternoon. 

With the win, their second of the season over Whitman, the Indians virtually clinched first place in the Finger Lakes D-II League.

Waterloo edged ahead 7-5 in the first half and outscored the Wildcats 5-4 to clinch the win.  Rachel Northrup scored 2 goals and dished out 3 assists to lead the Whitman attack.  Jessica Dean ( 2 goals/1 assist), Bri Dunton ( 2 goals/1 assist), Danielle Turner (1 goal/ 1 assist), and Hannah Barnett (1 goal), rounded out the Whitman scoring.

 Katie Capiello and Brittany Catlin played one half each in goal  registering 1 save each.

Pal-Mac 5

The Wildcat Lady Laxers rebounded nicely from Monday's loss with a 13-5 win over Pal-Mac at home.  Whitman piled up a 9-2 lead in the first half and coasted to the victory. 

Rachel Northrup and Bri Dunton scored 4 goals each.  Kara Lyon added 2 goals.   Also scoring for the 'Cats, Kalie Barnett, Kacie Harris, and Jamie Gulvin. 

Brittany Catlin had 6 saves in goal for the Lady Wildcats (10-6,8-5).
