The Penn Yan Mustang Lacrosse team traveled over the hill to Alfred University to take on Williamsville North from Section 6, the Buffalo area.

The Mustangs, using a ball control, deliberate offense, shutout the Niagara County contingent 8-0.

The game, played in a steady drizzle on the slippery astrotruf field at Alfred, was primarily a defensive battle in the first half.

Penn Yan scored twice late in the  half to take a 2-0 lead at the half.  The game opened up a bit in the second half with the Orange and Blue stickmen ruling 6-0.

Matt Osgood had three goals to lead the Mustang attack.  John Linnan fired in 1 goal and added an assist.  Nate Nichols, Brendan Minor, and Adam Stork added markers also.  Adam Trombley chipped in two assists.

Ethan Kalmholtz had a big game in goal, stopping seven shots while registering the shutout.

Williamsville North is coached by PYA grad and former Mustang laxer Matt Smart.
