Dundee leaves mark on Finger Lakes Track & Field Championship
The Finger Lakes League Championships were held at Wayne on Friday.
In the boy’s track and field events in the Finger Lakes West Division, Dundee’s Steven Webb won the 100m and 200m dashes.
Stephan Ringsmuth captured first in the 1600 and 3200. Trevor Davis won the 3000 steeplechase. The Dundee Scots won all three team relays.
In the Finger Lakes Central, Marcus Whitmans’ Randy Pierre won the 400 hurdles and Scott Longyear won the triple jump. For Penn Yan, Lyman Beecher placed second in the 400 hurdles and the 3000 steeplechase. Isaac Davis finished in second place in the discus.
In the girl’s events, Whitman’s Amy Slentz won the 100 and 200 m dashes Penn Yan’s Heather Creary placed second in the 100 and 200. Emily Dinehart finished second in the pentatholon.

Mynderse 85, 100
The Penn Yan Mustang Track and Field teams dropped their final regular season meets on Wednesday in Penn Yan.
Mynderse defeated Penn Yan 85-46 in the boy’s meet and 100-36 in the girl’s meet.
Lyman Beecher won the 200m and Preston Illnicki the pole vault for the lone wins on the boy’s side for Penn Yan. The Lady Mustangs had wins in the 100m and 200 m by Heather Creary. The 4x100 relay team of Heather Creary, Rachel Colaneri, Hannah Zelazny and Courtney Volz also placed first.

Waterloo 44. 63
The Marcus Whitman Track and Field teams scored victories over Waterloo at home on Tuesday. The Whitman boys defeated Waterloo 91-44. Matt Champlin had first place finishes in the 1600 and 3200.
Scott Longyear won the triple and long jumps. Justin Bates scored a double in the 400 hurdles and 800. Nate Francisco the 100 and 200. Dakota Robarge won the 110 hurdles; Cody Case the pole vault and Andrew Paulison the 400.
The Whitman girl’s team defeated Waterloo 77-63.
Casey Gilbert grabbed four first place finishes in the 1500, 3000, triple jump and pole vault. Heather Beasley won the 800. The Whitman Wildcats captured first place finishes in the three team relay events.
