The Penn Yan Mustangs boy’s lacrosse team finished their regular season last week with a win and a loss.

Livonia 4

On Tuesday in their home finale, the Mustangs defeated Livonia 20-4. Matt Osgood had eight goals and Cole Castle five goals and an assist to pace the Mustang attack. John Linnan had three goals and three assists. Adam Trombley dished out seven assists.

Also scoring for Penn Yan were Nate Nichols, Jordan Owen and Jamil Modaffari. Ty Trombley contributed three assists and Dana Wilber one assist. Ethan Kamholtz had six saves in goal.

Livonia could be a potential opponent in the upcoming Section V Class C tournament.

Canandaigua 9

On Thursday in Canandaigua, the Mustangs dropped a hard fought 9-7 decision to the undefeated Braves. Penn Yan led 3-2 after the first quarter, but could not contain the potent Canandaigua offense in the second half.

John Linnan scored three goals and had an assist for the Mustangs.

 Jordan Owen netted two goals, Cole Castle and Brendan Minor had one goal each. Ethan Kamholtz had 16 saves in goals for Penn Yan (6-3, 10-7).
