DUNDEE?— Jesus A. Ortiz Jr. (Sensei Zeus) from Team Ibuke-Do returned to fight for the U.S. Fight League on Nov. 29 at War in the Woods V, held at the Fox Theatre in the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

Ortiz’s opponent was Reggie Higgins of  Connecticut.

Higgins is 6’2” and 220 lbs.  Ortiz is 5’8” and 225 lbs.  When the bell rang, the fighters came to the center and touch gloves.  Higgins threw an  ineffective kick and followed by a combination.  Ortiz countered with his own combination and Higgins threw another ineffective kick followed by some punches.  Ortiz defended  but lost his footing. The official stepped in to stop the match.

Ortiz was upset that the referee stopped the fight, and said, “I was fine and I don’t agree with the referee’s decision.  I do understand that they want to protect the fighter but don’t step in way too early.  My opponent had a reach advantage that was effective and I tried to close the gap but couldn’t after my slip.”

"Obviously, I’m disappointed with the result.  It’s my first loss in nine fights so I’ll take a week off and start training harder for my next fight," he added.
