Mustangs, Wildcats fall to tough wrestling competitors

The Penn Yan Mustang Wrestling team opened their 2008-’09 season at home Dec. 4 against an always tough Waterloo team.  The Indians dominated registering six pins en route to a 56-24 triumph.

For Penn Yan, Miles Snyder picked up a win by fall in the 130 lbs. match.

Travis Groet also scored a win by a pin in the 145 lbs. class.  Colin Phillips and Eric Eggleston won their matches by forfeit for Ted Cox's charges.

Penn Yan falls to 0-1 in the Finger Lakes Central League.



The Marcus Whitman Wrestling team opened their new season on Tuesday night in Gorham. 

South Seneca dominated in the lighter weight classifications and came away with a 49-25 win.

Nick Pascazi, Louie Perrica, and Noah Chevere recorded pins in the 160 lbs., 189 lbs., and 285 lbs. matches for the Wildcats. 

Dakota Robarge scored a 15-1 decision, one point away from a technical fall.  Jeff Clark also picked up a win by decision in the 145 lbs. match for Whitman (0-1).
