Dundee devours Lyons Lions 58-0

When it comes to powerhouse high school football, the Dundee Scotsmen are the complete package.

The  No. 2 ranked Class D team in the New York State High School football polls can do it all.  They average 50.8 points per game and have yielded only 20 points all season while rolling to a perfect 5-0 record.  The Scots are led offensively by their talented senior running back Steven Webb.  He has piled up yardage and points in record breaking fashion.  This past Friday in Lyons, not even a slick field and a steady rainfall could slow down this maroon football Juggernaut.

The Dundee Scots rolled over the hometown Lions 58-0 to improve their record to 5-0 and strengthen their hold on first place in the Finger Lakes West.

The Scotsmen onslaught led by the fleet-footed Steven Webb, scored at will against the Wayne County hosts.  Webb scored six touchdowns in the game on scoring runs of 48, 15, 4, 30, 23, and 21 yards.

He carried the ball 20 times for 292 yards, averaging 14 yards per carry.

If the ever present Steven Webb wasn’t enough of a problem for the Lyons 11, they also had to deal with Ryan Ballard.

He scored three touchdowns on runs of 16 and 1 yards.  Ballard also grabbed a 25-yard scoring pass from Thomas Pratt III in the first half. Katie Zebrowski also kicked two P.A.T.’s.

Defensively, the Scotsmen also dominated the Lions totally. Dustyn Thompson, Patric Perez, and a cast of many had solid games defensively for Dundee.

The Scotsmen will finish their regular season against South Seneca this Saturday at home. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Section V class D Quarterfinals are scheduled to start on Saturday Oct. 17.
