Mustang Track &?Field begins 2011 action

The regular slate of scheduled meets for the Penn Yan Mustang Track and Field teams will begin this coming week.  

But the Mustang track and field athletes got a taste of action before the regular season starts competing in a couple of invitational events over the Spring Break.

On Monday at the Wayne County Coaches Invitational, the Mustang boy’s 4 x 800 relay team garnered a third place finish, competing against some very good competition.  The Lady Mustang’s 4 x 400 relay team also brought home a third place finish in Wayne County.

On Friday, the Mustang teams journeyed to Waterloo High School for the Waterloo Spring Sensation Event.  

Penn Yan’s Geff Rouin finished second in the 3,200, the Mustang boy’s 4 x 800 relay team came in second place.  Kyle Meyers garnered a second place finish in the high jump.  Also, in the shot put competition, Penn Yan’s Ray Mashewske came in third place.

On the girl’s side, the Lady Mustang 4 x 100 relay team recorded a third place finish.
